The Digital Photo Calculator is a tool for digital photographers, who need information about sensor resolution and diffraction limit, convert between RGB and Lab color spaces, calculate Dmax and Dmin values from their Lab measurements or want to calculate DOF and hyperfocal distance optimized for given sensor size and resolution.

Hyperfocal distance, closest sharp distance and optimal f-stop

Unlike many other calculators the hyperfocal distance is calculated from sensor data and diffraction limit and ensures that the closest distance and infinity are as sharp as the sensor can resolve and for the largest f-stop number that will not be diffraction limited. Traditional "Zeiss formula" calculation also available.

Calculate depth of field and near and far edges tailored to your sensor

Unlike many other calculators the DOF is calculated from sensor data. The calculated depth of field is shallower than that calculated by some other calculators and ensures that the edges are as sharp as your camera sensor can resolve. Traditional "Zeiss formula" calculation also available.
